You're jet-lagged.

It's true.

Working rotating shifts is like constantly being jet-lagged.

Our bodies can't get used to that.

Swinging from days to nights to days off doesn't get better with time - it often starts to feel worse.

Each one of us is unique, and our diet requires a tailored approach; however, nutrition goals need to be specific and practical.  They need to fit your schedule, your family's needs, your preferences and lifestyle.

You should also never feel like you are on a diet.  If you do, we're doing it wrong.

Everything can (and should be) included in a healthy, balanced diet.

We start with the evidence-based recommendations for shift work and tailor them to your life.

Regular 9-5 nutrition strategies just don't fit.

When you work through one of the packages, every week you come away with small, sustainable goals that keep your circadian rhythm aligned, fuel your body, support your sleep, and improve how your shifts and time at home feel.

Even if you've tried every diet under the sun, we can still make changes.

Even if you feel your sleep and schedule are so far gone it's not even funny, it's not too late.

Even if you just started a career in shift work and you feel great, it's never too early to put prevention strategies in place.

If you feel like life is passing you by and you're missing the most important moments, we can bring back your mental clarity and energy levels.

Simple, effective nutrition strategies — a clear plan for how much and when to eat, plus tried-and-true recipes — can boost your energy and help you show up fully at work and at home.

Employee and Recruit training

Does your organization provide training to new hires or recruits?

preparing them for a career in shift work?

Many first responder recruit training processes are high-intensity and require significant output from the recruits.  Education surrounding performance nutrition during training and how to eat for shift work are key elements to set your employees up for success. The right nutrition strategies can prevent injury and burnout in the field, protecting your return on investment for your recruits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find an answer? Contact me with your question!

Never ever. You don't need to cut out caffeine to be healthy. We definitely will discuss caffeine dosing and timing strategies to keep you feeling your best.  In fact, I'll probably show up at our session with coffee in hand.

That all depends.  The program is not easy, but it is effective.  It takes a lot of work to implement the changes and the commitment to show up.

These programs may be right for you if:

- you are confused about when to eat and what to eat

- you notice that either day shift or night shift feels harder

- you feel foggy and jet-lagged all the time

- you experience gut issues due to eating at weird times

- you feel your health has declined since working shift work

- you are ready and motivated to make changes!

No.  I also feel really strongly about supporting those who live with a shift worker (takes one to know one).  My practice is focused around supporting your circadian rhythm, simple meal planning strategies, and using your chronotype to determine your best meal and exercise timing.  If that interests you, I'm happy to connect!

As a regulated health professional, dietitians are required to register with regulatory bodies.  As of right now, I can provide nutrition counseling services to Canadian residents in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. If you live outside these areas, please reach out!  There are still options for you!

Possibly! Registered dietitian services are covered by a lot of health benefit plans.  Your health spending account may also be an option.  If you have no coverage, you can always claim the cost against your taxes at the end of the year.

I never promise my clients that they will see a certain result.  That would simply be wrong and misleading.  Every person's body and circumstances are so unique that what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.  I can guarantee that you will be heard, validated, and supported every step of the way.
