
As a registered dietitian working in private practice for 12 years,
I've brought my experience in nutrition education
to my shift-working family across Canada.
I'm also luckily (and happily) married to a shift worker.
Working shift work can mean feeling tired all the time.
It can mean feeling confused about when to eat and what to eat.
It can also mean your risk for chronic disease is very high.
The good news is, none of that has to be your reality.
I'm passionate about helping shift workers
increase their energy and improve their health,
but there is a lack of real-life, evidence-based resources specific to shift work.
I'm here to change that with nutrition education that is both backed by research and includes drive-throughs.
I firmly believe that the areas of health are not separate boxes.
Our physical health is connected to our mental health, which is connected to our spiritual and emotional health. I operate from faith-based principles, rooted in the Bible and Christianity, believing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (even if we're exhausted and running strictly on caffeine).
Each one of us is unique, and our diet requires a tailored approach; however nutrition goals need to be specific and practical. They need to fit your schedule, your family's needs, your preferences and lifestyle.
You should also never feel like you are on a diet. If you do, we're doing it wrong.
Everything can (and should be) included in a healthy, balanced diet.
